Hello Hello Chatters! I hope you all enjoyed your summer! We are still enjoying our hot and humid summer! (Blah!) So what have I been doing for the last month?! My Grandpa passed away, I was in a wedding, Dog sat, went to Disneyland, Went to 2 concerts (Kenny Chesney and Brad Paisley), Moved, and now I'm having some blood pressure issues which are making me feel a little off...but I'm starting to feel better I think it's stress related!  Do you guys ever have that feeling like something is now or never?! That's what I'm feeling at the moment about my life and my dreams. It's so strange to think time is fleeting thats one thing that is constant weather we are ready or not time continues on. As the big 3-0 looms over my head and patiently waits for me I feel like I am approaching this birthday kicking and screaming. I have repeatidly told my friends over and over I'm not ready to settle down, I'm not ready for kids I'm not ready I'm not ready I'm not ready. So I began to think during our time off what AM I ready for? Am I ready for a relationship? No...probably not! Am I ready to take the plunge and move out of state like I've been dreaming of since High School? Yes...but It's going to be too expensive! Am I ready to travel more? YES! So that is my plan for the next year, Travel! So Chatters be ready to hear all about my upcoming adventures!

I am excited to come back to the show I hope you continue to listen and I think we all needed the time off to rejuvinate and reflect and grow! Hopefully you guys continue to listen!

Update...Our weather is back to normal whew no more humidity...thanks! :)

Leilani

The past few weeks I have been winding down my summer. I had an amazing summer spent with wonderful people, and enjoyed so many more activities that I could have imagined. I don’t really recall any specific moments from the past few weeks. I went to a Quincenera, I met with my friends and family at different places, gambled, and definitely had a couple of drinks. It was so fun! Then the week before our show took place again, I was back in school. This past summer was probably my last chance to enjoy a summer free from worry before I head into the profession of my choice. I was just glad to have spent it with people that made it so worthwhile.

I am definitely looking forward to these changes that we’ve made to the show. I really missed my co-hosts these past few weeks, and when we reunited it definitely felt like we had never missed one show, our camaraderie, with all the arguments that we have, is definitely stronger. I can say this is where I understand the saying “Distance makes the heart grow fonder.” As for the new format of our show, it is definitely a work in progress, but I look forward to making changes that are beneficial for our listeners. The new segments make the transition between topics flow a lot smoother. I hope that you all enjoy the new format, and we look forward to hearing your feedback.

Here’s a toast to bringing back “Thirsty Thursday’s” to Chatting Drunk! CHEERS!

Social Media Friend or Foe according to Michele!

From my experience I believe that in a business setting Social Media is a great tool to use to get you exposure and can really cost next to nothing. As far as Social Media in my personal life I believe that it can be my worst enemy.

In regards to the article Leilani mentioned in our show here's what I really think!

Anxieties Caused by Social Media

Pinterest — The Fear of Domestic Inadequacy
I don't agree with this personally although I can see how that could be true, especially if you are comparing your pins to your friends pins. For me personally I use Pinterest for ideas and plans for the future, hopefully these things that I have pinned will come in handy one day and I will actually use them! LOL

Instagram — The Fear of Missing Out
I think generation Y suffers from this anxiety in general because of social media. You can see what your "friends" are doing at all times of the day because they are updating their pages and of course people only show the "good" stuff or the drama! No one ever shows themselves sitting on the couch watching "House of Cards" in their sweats all weekend do they?

Facebook — The Fear of Personal Failure
This one I agree with 100% like I said with Instagram everyone only shows the good stuff! So if you are a normal person with some sort of baggage of course you are comparing yourself to your "friends" you see their "great life" and you sit and wonder and torture yourself "why is it that I'm not doing the things they are? Why am I sitting here watching 'House of Cards' alone when that person is (Insert whatever that person is doing here)"

Twitter — The Fear of Looking Dumb
This one I agree with 120%! You are limited to 140 characters! You have followers that will read your tweets and you feel like you have to be smart, witty, and an expert on whatever you want to talk about! Don't let there be a spelling error in one of your tweets! Utter mortification! (I've been there I used to instead of too, while a twitter conversation with my dream man at the time)

LinkedIn — The Fear of Career Failure
This one I also agree with to some extent, I really like LinkedIn though I'm huge on Networking and this is the best way to connect with other professionals you meet during networking events. You never know when someone may need help with something that you may know about. Not everyone has the same skills and you never know how you may help someone else in their career or vice versa! The thing how I see this could be an anxiety though is your "connections" are notified on your events, Did you celebrate an anniversary at work? Did you switch jobs? Did you get a promotion? Everyone of your connections will know on LinkedIn, great for positive events and maybe a little disappointing for the not so positive. On the other hand you have some great connections so if something bad may happen you never know who may be looking for your exact skills to help them with their next venture!

Spotify — The Fear of Bad Taste
Spotify I love you! I don't agree with this because I feel like everyone likes their own music. I don't believe there is bad taste everyone has their own unique taste. Not everyone may agree that what I like is good but I think it's great and that's all that matters!

Off topic real quick I want to say that Luis obviously upset me when called us alcoholics. I am not an alcoholic, I do not drink a lot or often. Alcoholism is a disease, I do have family members who deal with this daily. That is not one of my demons.

Daydream Believer!

This week we will discuss our childhood dreams for ourselves! What did we dream for our grown-up selves when we were younger? Did they come true? If so, is it what we thought it would be, were there struggles along the way? If not did we change our path and why, or are we still working towards that goal?

Don't forget to tune into Blogtalkradio.com every Thursday to hear us chatting live. You can also add us on Facebook at www.facebook.com/chatting.chatting.9 , on Twitter @Chattingdrunk, or email us at chattingdrunk@gmail.com. We would love to hear from you!!! Cheers!!!

Luis

When I was a child I had many aspirations and would imagine what I would be when I was an adult, of course life is what happens when your busy making other plans. So my life has gone a very different direction in many ways better than I ever imagined and in others I still fell a desire to at the very least try to make these dreams come true, I now have children so my hopes and dreams have gone to them and I mean that in the most loving way, I am not concerned about me but of them and it has shown me the best love I have ever known. I do however want to grow as an individual and I want to be an example for my children maybe get then a better future, that is now my dream. I must fulfill my dreams to make there's happen.

Michele

I had little dreams here and there, to be a cheerleader, to pledge a sorority, to become an actress. My dreams seemed to revolve around beauty and a sense of belonging. I lost track of my dream to become an actress in my early twenties, when my passion for what was happing in Iraq became more important. Falling in love with an active military soldier opened my eyes, I realized there were more important things in life than being pretty and wanting to become a sucessful actress. (Although my boyfriend at the time was my biggest supporter!) I also dreamed one day I'd have a husband and children but as I aproach my 30's I'm begining to realize like my dream of acting those dreams may not happen for me. I may not be meant to have children. I may not be meant to get married either but whatever is meant for me will be!

My professional dream has changed along the way, and yes there have been struggles a long the way. I loved acting from a young age. I loved being on stage and loved the attention. One of my high school drama teachers really urged me to audition for our community theater productions but I was content with just our school plays. I remember going to college fairs and being approached by musical theater schools but telling them the fact that my singing voice was less than steller was going to put a stop to that career! When I went to college I went to LA and talked to some different agents and took some acting classes. When my relationship ended with my boyfriend I needed to find myself so I decided to try a summer internship. I found an internship with a local non-profit organization I loved what I was doing and was helping people at the same time. I knew during that internship I wanted to do that as a career, so I looked for jobs and ended up getting a dream job (or what I thought was a dream) it actually turned into a huge stressful nightmare that I'd love to forget. I did meet someone that become like the sister I never had! Without her I would have never gotten through that difficult time even though we do not talk much now I am so greatful to have known her while I did. Not only did I meet her I met some great mentors who I learned a lot from and understand the importance of networking! I am now in position that I love and surounded by some wonderful people, who I am learning a lot from! Going through the rough time made me really appreciate this opportunity more than I would have before!

After reflecting on my dreams those that have actually come true and those that have fallen on the wayside I realize that I need to dream a little more. My life has turned out pretty good I can not and should not complain. I have expereinced things that people dream of but never come true and they happened to me without even dreaming it.

I do want to say that I realize I was pretty quiet during our show but I really didn't have much to say regarding the Zimmerman case. I did not follow the case and do not understand the hype. From what I understand there are a lot of things that we are unsure of in the case and there was no way to prove Zimmerman was guilty without a reasonable doubt. I belive even with out the "stand your ground" law Zimmerman would have still been found not guilty. Also Luis does piss me off when he does not let me finish my thoughts, I do not condone violence and would never really punch him in the face! haha

Leilani

It's hard to remember exactly what my dreams were as a child. It was so very very very long ago!!! lol! I do recall that my childhood dreams consisted of all the things I didn't have as far as possessions, a job that seemed fascinating, and emulating the people that I looked up to. I always dreamed that I would live in a house one day, growing up in an apartment complex. I dreamed of having nice possessions and working in a job where I would be able to help people.

So did my dreams come true? Somewhat. I do live in a house now, but I don't own it. I have nice things, but material objects seem to lack any real value as I get older. I did however find a career helping people. Well, I am in the process of getting into that career, which would be teaching.

Of course everyone struggles along their paths to success. Each path is different for each individual, and paved with their own obstacles. I have to say that some of my biggest struggles were ones that I still fight to overcome today. I wouldn't ever change the path that I took to get where I am, because it has helped to mold me into the person that I am today.

I know that we are going to discuss the Zimmerman case and the tragic death of Trayvon Martin, and that brings up one of the struggles that I continue to overcome today. Racial profiling has probably been one of the realest struggles I've had to face. Being a woman, and most importantly, being a woman of color, I have had to deal with the ignorance of other people judging simply based on my appearance. I am educated, and I do come from a wholesome family. I'm a little rough around the edges, and I do speak differently than many of my scholastic peers. Does that make me less than? No. But people will always judge you, and that makes things difficult when trying to attain lifelong dreams. I learned at a very early age that I was different, and fortunately it gave me thick skin. I am able to look past the judgement, and "keep on swimming", like Dori in Finding Nemo. :)

I am always striving to do better. My childhood dreams haven't really changed, but they have grown to include bigger and better things. I've added to this dream list over the years, and I will always push to get the things that I want in life. I hope that answers the questions. Hahahaha

Check out our latest episode... Let's Get Poltical...ly Correct

We had a blast talking about being PC. Check out our latest episode, and don't forget to tune every Thursday on Blogtalkradio.com!!! Cheers!!!

Listen to my new episode Let's get Political...ly correct! athttp://tobtr.com/s/5117075. ‪#‎BlogTalkRadio‬

Let's get Poltical...ly Correct!!!

This week your Chatting Drunk Hosts discuss being Politically Correct. With the recent headlines with Paula Deen and members from the Big Brother's Cast, we thought about how being PC matters to some and not so much to others. We asked ourselves, Do you consider yourself to be PC? How important is it to try to remain PC in your everyday life? Are there any instances that you would like to share that you had to question if you were being PC?

Don't forget to tune into our show live every Thursday on Blogtalkradio.com. Add us on Facebook @ www.facebook.com/chatting.chatting.9, on Twitter @ chattingdrunk, or feel free to email us @ chattingdrunk@gmail.com. Cheers!!!

Leilani

I try to be as politically correct as possible in my every day life. I don't consider myself completely PC though. I use offensive language all the time. I have been known to have a "sailor's mouth" and even that term is probably not PC. Lol! I always think... can anyone really be pc all the time? There are so many different ways that people can interpret the correct way to approach a label, whether it refers to race, sexuality, religion, politics, etc. What I always consider when approaching someones ethnicity is what they prefer to call themselves. Again, this is just a label. Whether we like it or not, or try not to label ourselves or others, society will always put a label on us. So I take the, whatever you prefer to label yourself as... I respect it. On tonight's show there were some great examples that we used when referring to holidays, or ethnicity. There are many instances where I had to question if I was being politically correct. Most of them refer to race, sexuality, and others to religion. I cannot pinpoint exactly what those instances are because they actually happen almost everyday. Honestly, when it comes down to it, there's always a good chance you are going to offend someone if you don't use politically correct terms when discussing certain topics. My advice, stick to what you normally say, and if it offends someone, then remember to correct your language with them in the future. In the end it's all about respect to me.

Luis

Do I consider my self politically correct... I think on an every day basis I want to be politicly correct. The reason for that is that I like my fellow brothers and sisters to feel comfortable around me. I'm sure I do cross the line every now and then for the show, but that is just a character for Chatting Drunk. I hope people understand that I grew up in a town that set me apart, so I grew being comfortable speaking about race.

It is very important for all of us to be pc. We can have a laugh every now bs then, as long as its not at the expense of an individuals self respect. I do make fun of myself but I guess that's allowed.

There are a few times in my life where I questioned myself to be pc, however I am the type of person that will ask if I crossed the line, and I'm not afraid or to proud to apologize in a sincere way so my friends always know I'm kidding around, and know my heart is in the right place.

Michele

Hi everyone! I hope you enjoyed the show! I try to be as PC as possible in my everyday life...do I wish I didn't have to worry about being politically correct?! YES! I wish I could just say what I was thinking without worrying if it will offend someone but the truth is we need to think before we speak because words do hurt! When I was growing up I learned that saying "Sticks and stones may break my bones but words will never harm me"! Thinking back on this saying it is really not true at all! Words hurt maybe even more than broken bones. I may not understand why not using the politically correct term may offend someone but the point is it does. Something I was taught growing up is "If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all" So if I'm unsure if my comment may offend someone I usually tend to just bite my tounge and keep it to myself.

In my professional life I feel it is important for me to remain PC, if I offend someone in my professional life that could make or break weather or not I advance in my career or not. I would hate to end up like the Big Brother Contestants! In my personal life I feel like I am in a safe enviornment where I can exercise my own views and opionions I will do so but if I'm uncertain i tend to play it safe and keep my mouth shut!

I have had instances where I felt like I had offened people and that was not my intention at all. That could be why I tread lightly when it comes to termanolgy and choose to rather stay quite than voice my true opinion. One time I was in English class we broke up into groups to discuss Dr. Martin Luther King Jr's I Have a Dream speech. This particular group started off with myself and a caucasion male who I happened to be dating at the time (Mr. Minnesota) . Another classmate came in late to class and he joined our group, he happened to be African-American. We were discussing weather or not we believed the speach was a great speach. I believed it was a great speach that was way before it's time, and the late commer to the group disagreed. We got into a heated discussion where he believed that Malcom X was a better activist than King. I begged to differ since I do not believe violence solves anything, the conversation quickly changed to religion and weather or not God was black. Mr. Minnesota quickly stepped in and defended my honor but ever since that incident I have felt like keeping my mouth shut is the best policy! It's a heated topic where people take offence and tempers can escelate I feel it's best to just keep my opinion to myself.

Dating

This week we will discuss dating! We will discuss what we think the most common mistakes people make in the dating world. Where we think the best places are to meet someone and what we think are the best kind of dates!

Michele:

Hey guys I decided to discuss dating because I am single and even though a lot of you guys are married who hasn't been single at some point?! Everyone goes through it, some may have dated differently than others. Some people just "hang out", some go out on proper dates and some may marry their first love from childhood or high school and maybe never really went on a "real" date!

So I think the most common mistake people make while they are dating is having unrealistic expectations. Maybe even going in with expectations at all isn't the best for a first date. I have recently been dating and I have absolutely no expectations for these men! Do I have expectations for myself? Of course! Do I have deal breakers when it comes to relationships? YES! Do I have expectations for first dates...Not really! Do I have standards yes, but after they pass the initial standards (and let me tell you they are pretty high! haha) I do not have any real expectations for these guys. I have gone on these dates knowing they could be completely horrible and I will have an awesome bad date story for you guys. But to be honest the actual dates haven't been too bad! Did I click with these guys and find my soul mate? Probably not! Did I meet great guys? Yes! Did I also meet not so great guys? Yes! Does it make me want to go back to me ex because I know what I'll get with him? No! Right now I'm attracted to the unknown in hopes that there is someone out there that has the qualities I am looking for in a life partner!

I think it depends on what you are looking for when it comes to where you want to meet someone. If you are looking for a relationship I wouldn't think the best place to meet someone is a bar...but hey I do know a couple who met at a club had been in a long distance relationship for YEARS and finally got married a couple of years ago! So who am I to say where people should or shouldn't meet. The thing that I do know is I think people should be resourceful when it comes to meeting someone new! There are many online dating sites out there match.com has made attempts to bring people face to face with their singles mixers. I've been to one happy hour they put on and it was fun I got sick and left early but I'd totally recommend it for singles! I recently read an article in cosmo where an editor tried many different dating sites which prompted this topic. I decided to sign myself up and try them out. I'll talk about my experiences on the show I don't want to bore you with explanations here! But I do recommend Crazy Blind Date by OKCupid! It's a fun way to get out there and date! I would also recommend picking up a hobby or if you are religious get involved in your church or a bible study.

I think the best kind of dates are the ones where you are doing something together! It might be a little hard to concentrate on them in the beginning but I think after the initial thing is that you guys are doing is finished you are more relaxed and will know if you really want to get to know them or not. Last weekend I went bowling for a first date and we played two games I won the first game and in the middle of the second game my date put up the bumpers so he would no longer get a gutter ball...I obviously knew well he seems to be a problem solver but the more I learned about him the more I realized this is not a successful match!

I think the important thing to keep in mind while dating is to have fun, you will have some good and bad dates but you will learn a lot about yourself and what you are looking for in a significant other.

Leilani:

I'm not a big dater if dating is even something I do. Lol! I prefer meeting people casually. I probably wouldn't know how to go on a date if I tried. What I do recall when hanging out with someone for the first time it is always uncomfortable. You try to find things to talk about, you may or may not have butterfly's in your stomach, you have awkward conversations and moments of silence. The whole situation is just awkward. Lol!

Moving onto the questions... I think that the most common mistakes that people make when they first start dating is that they have expectations. They expect people to behave a certain way. Instead of just relaxing, being yourself, and going with the flow, people tend to have unrealistic expectations, making for awkward behavior. If you don't expect anything to happen, then you will be fine!!! Another mistake that people make is that they try to hard, or they talk about their exes. Just relax, enjoy the moment, and focus on what's in front of you... I think that will eliminate mistakes.

The best places to meet people? Well, I wouldn't know. I think that you should maybe try to meet people in places that you enjoy being at. Lol! Perhaps church or a bar. I really have no idea. Just make sure that you meet someone in a place that you enjoy because then perhaps that person has the same interests as you being in that location. Hahahaha!!!

The best kind of date to be on... in my opinion, would have to be a casual date. Where we are doing an activity, or relaxing in a quiet location where we can talk. I don't know exactly what the best kind of date would be, but when I find out, I'll let you guys know. Lol! The worse date to be on, or go on, would have to be a very formal dinner. Ugh! There is nothing more uncomfortable than meeting someone for the first time, and dressing up, and sitting in a fancy schmancy place with nothing to talk about. Save that for a few dates in, or date night when you're married.

Luis:

Dating...it's been a long time since I went through this scene. I think that dating can be a lot of fun on the right night or a living nightmare. You need to make sure you bring a gift, your best clothes, and according to Leilani some lube and a compass. Be respectful! Don't expect to revive something you haven't earned. And be a gentleman, it will get you farther than you think.

Check out our latest show on Blogtalkradio.com! Hope to hear from you CHEERS!!!

Leilani

Oh how I love the Summer! Especially going to the movies and catching up on my latest shows! So far this Summer I've watched Fast Six, Iron Man 3, Now You See Me, Star Trek Into the Darkness. So far Summer movies haven't let me down, and I've seen some pretty great movies, with some pretty great people! I'm also looking forward to the new shows coming back this season, as well as catching up on shows that I've missed. I love Duck Dynasty, True Blood, Defiance, Real Housewives, Princesses of Long Island, and looking forward to Mistresses, and Devious Maids! What are some of your favorites that you think I would like to watch? I love all types of movies and shows, especially horror, sci-fi, and comedy. Cheers!!!

Michele

Hey guys! I have always loved the summer but the one thing I didn't like was that all of my tv shows were ending and I wouldn't have anything to watch until September and now sometimes October! Over the last few years networks have wised up and have started showing brand new shows over the normal summer hiatus. Army Wives used to be my favorite summer program but this last season they started early and showed it at the end of Spring. Drop Dead Diva is coming which has been my favorite summer show for the last couple of years as well as True Blood. ABC Family has starting taking breaks with their shows 3 months on 3 months off which is a good idea and I'm really excited to see what happens on Pretty Little Liars that show does not disappoint! I could not forget Big Brother my favorite summer tv reality game show! With all of these shows starting my DVR will be full and keep me entertained until Fall when the new TV season begins! As for Movies I have always loved movies and love going to the drive in to catch a double feature, with all these "End of the world" movies coming out this summer these movies should be interesting.

Tune in LIVE on Thursday, June 6th on Blogtalkradio.com to chat with your hosts about your favorite Summertime activities!!!

Michele

Growing up my summer consisted of Summer Day camp, hanging out with friends and family and weekends trying to stay cool! I grew up in the valley where all summer long it's in the triple digits. We would go swimming but I hated swimming in August because it just feels like you are in a warm bath outside. We would go to the lake or river and consume a lot of ice cream, sno-cones and sweet tea! Obviously summer bbq's are the best and the 4th of July never disappointed we would have home made ice cream, make sure we ate hamburgers and/or hot dogs and potato salad (my favorite). Of course we did our own fireworks...my favorite were the sparklers even though they'd always freak me out at first! We always took a family vacation, when I was really small we'd always go to an amusement park, I don't know if my favorite was Universal Studios or Disneyland! I have always loved movies and television so being able to see my favorite movies and tv shows come to life were really cool for me! As I got older my family started spending our family vacation's at Mission Beach here in San Diego we always enjoyed our time here!

Now that I live here I try and have at least one bonfire a year at the beach! I love the beach, the sound of the waves relax me! I try and work on my tan as much as possible but make sure I apply enough sun screen so I'm not going to get burned. (some sun is good for you!) In my early twenties I would always take a girls trip to Vegas during the summer one summer i took 3 or 4 of them! Last year I took a girls trip to Tamecula for wine tasting which was really really fun! I think it's important to take trips with your friends it's a great bonding experience! Who could forget the San Diego Fair?! That has become a highlight of my summers! Taste of the Fair Tuesdays is my favorite because you can get cheap samples of the fair food!

Last but not least favorite summer jams?! Lets see I love Summertime by DJ Jazzy Jeff and the Fresh Prince and Kenny Chesney's song by the same name is my fave country summer jam, Vacation by the Go go's, Summer Girls by LFO, California Girls by the Beach Boys and Katy Perry's song by the same name is good too!

Leilani

Some of my summer jams are from some of my greatest summer memories. I love listening to Old School music, you know like the Lowrider Summer Jams compilations... lol! I also enjoy some of those 90's jams like Skeelo and Dove Shack. My all time favorite would have to be Summertime in the LBC! It's just one of those songs that makes you bob your head while driving to the beach and enjoying the sunshine. I love to spend my summers with my loved ones. We get into some crazy random adventures during the summer. Most recently, I went ghost hunting, and that was a different experience. hahahaha! Of course living in beautiful San Diego, I always make it a point to go to the beach. I like to enjoy the tourist attractions, but those can get pretty expensive, so I stick to things like the Del Mar Fair and some free festivals that you can catch every weekend. I also enjoy going to the theatre in the summer, especially the outdoor theatres. So fun! Finally, I love just hanging out and having backyard bbq's. Those are the best times!!! And especially when alcohol is involved, you know I'll be there! LOL! Cheers!!!

Michele

How do I do Vegas?! Well as you guys continue to listen to the show you will slowly begin to learn more about each of us. As for me you will find I'm not your average small town girl. Growing up my Dad raced off road cars so my experience with Vegas began at a VERY young age probably 5ish. Our family would road trip it to Vegas at least once mostly two times a year for races. I loved the bright lights and pretty much tried to stay awake to catch the first glimpse of those lights on every road trip. We usually stayed at Circus Circus and I would always make my Grandparents take me up stairs and get my face painted like a clown. I loved to watch the flying trapeze act and love to watch them fly through the air effortlessly. I loved our dinners at the Pink Pony Cafe and almost always got a Shirley Temple. One of my favorite Easter vacations was when my family didn't really do Easter we just went to Vegas. We went to Mandalay Bay and their kids area was like the Wizard of Oz. My parent's would take turns gambling and we would get to play games in the mean time.

As I got older and of age my friends and I would take trips to Vegas.. I love to stay on the strip but stay on a budget. I know the best buffets to eat at for a great price. I love to go to Toby Keith's bar because it has a great ambiance and when they play "I love this bar" they give out free shots! I have my crazy Vegas stories too crazy hook ups in clubs and knock down drag out fights with girls during my best friends 21st birthday. It happened in our hotel room, security wasn't called or anything and we were really loud! I've had experience with celebrities and even tried absinthe! It isn't called Sin City for any old reason. I've been to strip clubs and had a vip experience at the Pussy Cat Doll Lounge. We won a margarita popsicle once at the Tropicana Pool and yes it had real alcohol in it and I've been a seat filler a few times at a country awards show. So how do I do Vegas? I do it up!

Leilani

How do I Vegas? Well I have a different experience than most people. :) I have been going to Vegas since I was nine. Fortunately I have an Uncle who is awesome enough to take me in everytime I head to Vegas. My favorite spot is Freemont! It's so chill there, and really low key. If you want to spend a little bit of money, and enjoy some random entertainment, then head down to Freemont. I also love checking out Terrible's Casino for their all night restaraunt... they have the best Biscuit and Gravy plate ever!!! Other than the walking the strip at random times, I enjoy hanging out at my Uncle's house and chilling with his friends. They are too fun!!! What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas right? Lol!

Movies: Walk the Line, The Notebook, Troy
Favorite Food: Pizza, Tacos, Bacon Cheeseburgers
Specialty dance move:  Fax Machine...sprinkler haha jk The running man!
One pet peeve: Distractions in church...I'm already fighting the urge to check my phone please don't give in next to me I'm trying to pray!
One thing you have on your bucket list: Visit all 50...States 32 to go!
Most important thing you’ve learned so far in life: You have to put yourself first! If you don't value yourself and make yourself a priority in your own life you can't expect others to either!
Tell us about one of your embarrassing moments (Karla): I really haven't had any...I know I'm so boring! Maybe when I tripped and sprained my ankle during PE in 8th grade I cried and everything...but a nice boy carried my backpack for me for those 6 weeks and it got me out of PE yay!
How much do you love yourself now and what has changed between you in the past and in the present? I love myself more now then I ever have I have finally realized that you have to put yourself first because if you don't no one else will!
What made you decide to do the show and why the name Chatting Drunk? (Laarni): Well I have been toying with the idea of starting a youtube channel because I'm addicted to watching youtube. I also love talk radio as most of my friends will tell you I always talk about Cosmo Radio and The Catholic Channel. Leilani and I went to dinner one night and because we like to eat and chop it up and boom the show was born...We kept talking about possible topics and what we would discuss we both went home and started googling how to get this thing started and before I knew it I was getting an email from Leilani saying "We have an appointment to start our show in two weeks with Blog Talk Radio" I thought "Well I guess we're really doing this!" I texted Luis when the new Pope was elected because there was much speculation that it would be an african pope. Luis had mentioned that to me years ago that it's supposedly said somewhere that an African Pope means the end of the world. Anywho I mentioned that Leilani and I were starting a podcast and he said "You guys need a male prospective on the show. I want in!" I told him I'd have to run it by Leilani and the rest is history! We toyed with many ideas (and still are!) Chatting Drunk just stuck from early on because we all like to chat about different topics and we also like to drink at the same time. Personally I would like to change the name because I would like to add it to my resume or Linked in profile but with this name I'm not able to do so. Come on loyal Listeners give us some ideas for a new name?! Or do you love the current name?
Something you are uncomfortable talking about on your show: Politics

Name: Leilani

Nickname: I have many nicknames, but I'll go with Lani on the show. Lol!
Favorite Drink: I love tequila! "Sorry bout it", but tequila is always yummy! Nom Nom Nom
Male or Female (just in case): Female. I was such a tomboy growing up my dad use to tell me I should have been a boy. Lol!
Age: 29... aaaaahhhhhh! At least it ain't 30 yet hahaha
Profession: I am a student. Going into education when I'm done.
Religion: Non Denominational Samoan Christian :)
Political Affiliation: Non Partisan on my voting ballot, but I usually vote Democrat
Music: I am the ultimate R&B baby! I love island reggae, reggae, country, Good rap! lol, actually all kinds of music. :)
Television: My recent favorites: Defiance, Duck Dynasty (yes, I like some reality tv), Family Guy (because I'm five), New Girl, and of course SNL (the good shows!) lol!
Movies: HORROR!!! I absolutely love horror movies. Also enjoy sci-fi, and good comedy. I like old comedy movies especially Jerry Lewis!!!
Favorite Food: Sandwhiches!!! Like my bff told me, I'm a grown ass woman that eats like I'm still 8. Lol! I also enjoy good Italian food, sushi, but not a big fan of red meat.
Specialty dance move: EVERY DANCE MOVE! Hahahaha! I wish I could dance like a pro, but I don't. I do love to dance, so you will catch me dancing, here, there, everywhere.
One pet peeve: When people wear sandals and their heel is sticking out of the back of their sandal. I feel like, bro, go up a size!!! They're flip flops, no one cares what size you wear. Just make sure your whole foot is on the sandal, or don't wear any sandals at all. Sorry, but that's the poly in me. lol!
One thing you have on your bucket list: To travel to the birthplaces of my grandparents. Samoa and the Phillipines.
Most important thing you’ve learned so far in life: You will put your foot in your mouth! What matters is how you carry yourself after that moment. :)
Tell us about one of your embarrassing moments (Karla): I farted doing a situp in junior high PE. Sorry to that one guy friend I had that I blamed it one the first time I did it. The second time I got caught! lol!
How much do you love yourself now and what has changed between you in the past and in the present? What do you wish to accomplish in the future? (Krystle): I definitely love myself more today than I think I ever have before. Definitely not as much as I should, but hopefully growing more each day. I would like to think that what has changed about myself betweeen now and then, is that I try to constantly "better" myself as a person. I continue to try to grow, and try my hardest to let go of the past. In the future, I hope to be happy with my life. Riches come and go, but happiness, well we can control that. This was a long question! lol!
What made you decide to do the show and why the name Chatting Drunk? (Laarni): Michele and I use to do an annual "dinner" when we stopped working together. And I realized that everytime we met up there was alcohol involved and good conversation. I don't know if it was the alcohol or the company, but it made for good times. The show was something we talked about during one of our dinners, but we didn't ever think that we would do it. Until I made a call, put some things into action, and Michele and me went with it. Luis came in and it was awesome!!! Lol! We, all three of us get along really well, and are so different. It's fun and we do the show for fun, which makes us keep coming back. Chatting Drunk was my idea, and I know my cohosts are not the biggest fans, but hey isn't that what we're doing every Thursday?!?!! Lol!
Something you are uncomfortable talking about on your show: I am definitely NOT as knowledgable about politics as my cohosts are. I feel that I will have to really do my research about topics regarding politics and laws, in order to really show my take on these shows.

How much do you love yourself now and what has changed between you in the past and in the present? What do you wish to accomplish in the future? Change my self for the better and hopefully the world.
What made you decide to do the show and why the name Chatting Drunk? I wanna break the matrix.
Something you are uncomfortable talking about on your show? Nothing really as long as I speak the truth it will set me free. I love everyone so I should be fine. I don't like myself to much so that's why I do this.
